Military Appreciation Day to honor service members, veterans during Riverfest in La Crosse

Riverfest medallion hunt is underway

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Riverfest is coming back next week, and America’s veterans will have a special day as part of the festivities.

Military Appreciation Day, which will be July 2, will kick off with coffee and donuts. Members of several organizations will be on hand to answer questions.

Free military buttons are available at the Vet Center on Copeland Avenue for anyone currently serving or who served honorably.

Meanwhile, the Riverfest Medallion Hunt is underway once again.

The first clue is clue is “Welcome to Riverfest 2021! Food Fun, and national acts on stage. Take a walk by Fido and check out the new bandshell, right by Center Park. Thank yo to all our volunteers and sponsor without your support, our Fest would be in the dark.”

If you are hunting for medallion, it is on public property within 10 miles of Riverside Park. It is accessible 24 hours a day, but posted hours should be observed.
