Milk truck overturns in Vernon County

2 people sustained non-life-threatening injuries

A driver lost control of a milk truck while negotiating a curve, causing it to rollover in the Town of Clinton Tuesday morning, according to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office said Nathan L. Bousman, 41, of Sparta, was operating the milk truck on County Road D near Hall Road and lost control while negotiating a curve to the left. The truck left the roadway, overturned and came to rest upright with the tank detached from the truck.

The tank was full, but it came to rest upright and leakage was very minimal, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Bousman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Vernon Memorial Healthcare in Viroqua by La Farge Ambulance and was later transferred to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Passenger Rebecca Marcie Esther Elton, 37, of Sparta, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The La Farge Fire Department extricated her from the truck. She was transported to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse by Tri-State Ambulance. Elton was wearing a seatbelt.

The Sheriff’s Office said the milk truck is owned by Ettrick Transport of Wisconsin, Inc. from Sparta.
