Milwaukee man arrested in connection with Sparta homicide, police looking for another suspect
SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) – A Milwaukee man has been arrested in connection with the June 11, 2020 homicide of Anthony Koopman.
On Monday, August 3, Investigators from the Sparta Police Department worked with the United States Marshal Service and Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation in the apprehension of Michael R. Hartmann, 38, of Milwaukee. Hartmann was located in Butler, Wisconsin.
The Sparta Police Department is looking for Eric A. Borges, 32, of Milwaukee in connection with the homicide investigation. Deputy Police Chief Booker Ferguson says, individuals should not approach Borges but should contact local law enforcement regarding his whereabouts immediately. Investigators say Borges has been staying in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Texas since the June homicide.
Hartmann is facing charges of First Degree Intentional Homicide, Party to a crime of Felony Murder – Armed Robbery, Distribution of Methamphetamine.
