Milwaukee metro November home sales jump nearly 24 percent

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Home sales in the Milwaukee metropolitan market continue to soar.

The Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors said Monday that home sales in the Milwaukee metro area rose nearly 24 percent in November, compared with a year ago. The group says 1,463 homes were sold in November compared with 1,182 in November 2015.

November was the fourth consecutive month that home sales rose in the Milwaukee metro area. Increased sales can be attributed to an increase in listings in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties.

Milwaukee County saw a nearly 10 percent increase in November listings while Waukesha County reported a nearly 3 percent rise. But real estate agents say inventory is still chronically low for the year. Including November, the Milwaukee metro has had only three months of positive listings in 2016.
