PREVIOUS STORY:

A missing Minnesota woman may be in the La Crosse area.

Police say 31-year-old Leigh Meska of Goodview near Winona was last seen late Wednesday night in La Crosse.

She was reported missing Wednesday morning after she failed to show up for her job at Mayo in Rochester.

Because of concerns about the cold weather, police and volunteers spent all day Wednesday and a good part of Thursday doing an extensive search on the roads between Goodview and Rochester. A helicopter also assisted in search efforts.

Police say her cell phone was last ‘pinged’ near I-90 and Highway 52 in the Rochester area Wednesday morning.

However, police say Thursday afternoon they were able to confirm with video that Meska was in La Crosse Wednesday night.

They say they have credible information that before La Crosse, she had gone back to the Winona area, and also to Trempealeau and Rushford.

Authorities say they believe Meska is OK, but want her to contact someone to be sure.

Her parents made an emotional plea Thursday afternoon for her safe return.

“We hope and pray Leigh if you’re listening, that you know that we love you and we want continue to remain safe. We want you to know that we love you immensely and we need you to come home,” said Leigh’s mom Sue.

Her parents say this behavior is not normal for their daughter. She has an 11-year-old son and also a fiance. Police say her fiance is the one who reported her missing after receiving the call from her work that she hadn’t shown up.

Police say because of the new information on Meska’s last known location, they have called off the searches in Winona and Olmstead Counties in Minnesota , but are still actively looking for her.

She was wearing a sweater with black leggings and a red jacket. She is described as 5’3″ tall with green eyes and brown hair. She was driving a 2014 Gray Chevy Impala with Minnesota License Plate: 136-MWK.
