Mom accused of choking young girl during basketball game
A Seattle-area mother has been charged with assault after authorities said she attacked a young basketball player during a game.
Monique Altheimer, 38, faces a felony charge, according to The Associated Press.
The incident occurred last year at a sixth-grade basketball game between two Catholic schools.
Authorities said Altheimer choked and cursed at a child who had fought with her daughter during a game.
Reports said Altheimer elbowed another girl who tried to intervene.
The AP reports the victim was starting to lose consciousness when her mother knocked Altheimer down.
Altheimer has been charged with assault before, the AP reported.
