TOWN OF RIDGEVILLE, Wis. (WKBT) — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two people in what appears to be a murder/suicide Friday morning in the Town of Ridgeville, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Monroe County 911 Communication Center received a phone call shortly after 6 a.m. reporting that a person was dead at a house on Lexicon Avenue in Ridgeway.

The caller indicated that he or she had caused the death and planned to do the same to himself or herself, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Sheriff’s deputies and members of the Monroe County Combined Tactical Unit who responded found the two deceased people in the house, said the release, which did not name the two.

Deputies and the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating, but authorities said there is not believed to be any danger to the public. No further information will be released at this time, they said.

Assisting deputies, tactical unit members and the medical examiner at the scene were the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Wilton Police Department.
