Moon Tunes kicks off 10th anniversary June 2
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — The Moon Tunes concert series at Riverside Park in La Crosse kicks off in less than a month.
The first concert will take place Thursday, June 2.
Organizers are celebrating a big milestone: the 10th anniversary of the free concert series.
The first concert will feature three-time Grammy award winner Bill Miller.
Organizers say 20 new bands will hit the stage this year, including two from Ireland.
Moon Tunes is free to attend, but you are encouraged to make a donation.
“You know we pay the musicians,” organizer Terry Bauer said. “We have to pay the city for the park. So, there’s a lot of expenses to put on Moon Tunes. We pay our sound guy. So, there’s a lot of expenses that go into a free concert even though it’s free.”
Bauer says the money raised also goes toward community projects.
