Moped driver seriously injured in crash with semi
COON VALLEY, Wis. — Bobby Livangood, 63, suffered several severe injuries after crashing his moped into an oncoming semi-truck.
The Vernon County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened on Central Avenue in the Village of Coon Valley at about 4:25 p.m. on Saturday.
Livangood was traveling westbound when his moped crossed the center line, striking an oncoming semi-truck.
He was not wearing a helmet at the time and suffered several severe injuries, according to investigators. Livangood was transported to Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse where he is listed in critical condition.
The driver of the semi-truck did not suffer any injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department.
