More Rain Overnight into Saturday… Windy Saturday Too! -Bill Graul

Roller-Coaster Ride in Temps Next Week

WHAT WE’RE TRACKING:

Periods of rain fell across the region today and made for a rather cruddy day, but it was much needed moisture. Temps crashed this morning as a strong cold front tracked east/southeast across the region. Highs for the day were in the 60s before sunrise, but most of the day was spent in the 40s. Here are some rainfall totals through early Friday evening:

MORE RAIN ON THE WAY:

Scattered showers this evening, with the steadiest rain south and east. Another low will lift northeast along the cold front, which will slow to a crawl or even stall overnight. This will bring another round of rain after midnight and into Saturday. Isolated thunder will be possible in spots as well. Additional rainfall totals could climb above an inch in some areas, especially south and east.

Temps are much cooler this evening, but will remain steady overnight in the low-mid 40s for most… perhaps some upper 30s west. Windy on Saturday with highs in the 40s for many, but some 50s possible south and east. Sunday will be dry with a mix of clouds and sun and more seasonable highs in the low-mid 50s.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Fasten your seatbelts for a roller-coaster ride in temps next week. Highs Monday will be in the upper 40s to low 50s… then rise into the 60s midweek… then will come crashing down into the 30s for many by next Saturday. Small chance of showers on Election Day Tuesday, then a stronger system will bring the chance for rain on Thursday. Enough cold air gets wrapped into the system that snow could mix in on Friday. Stay tuned!
