More than 100 puppies survive crash

More than 100 puppies were rescued after a truck carrying them overturned in New York.

Local station WENY reports minor injuries, with two puppies being permanently admitted to the hospital for more severe trauma.

The van carrying the dogs was transporting them to local pet stores when the driver lost control of the vehicle. According to Dr. Becky Mortenson of Bath Veterinary Hospital, the puppies are all certified by USDA standards.

“I think it was a tough situation with the weather yesterday and they were lucky the situation wasn’t as bad as it could have been,” says Mortenson.
