Mostly Clear & Rather Chilly Tonight, Even Frosty for Some -Bill Graul
Warmer Wednesday with Mix of Sun & Clouds
Tonight’s Forecast Low: 37F / Wednesday’s Forecast High: 64F…
It was a wet morning for about the southern half of the viewing area, but then many of us also saw some sunshine before it set this evening… which was sure a sight for sore eyes!
I also have some additional data to share about this past month of April and just how windy it was. In fact, it was the windiest April in La Crosse in almost 60 years!
Expect mostly clear skies for much of tonight and light winds. This will allow temps to drop, making for a rather chilly night with lows in the 30s for most. In fact, frosty conditions are possible in traditional colder spots north and east.
Dry Wednesday with a mix of sun and clouds. Temps will be warmer with highs ranging from the upper 50s to low-mid 60s. Winds will remain on the lighter side in the 5-10 mph range from the E/SE.
Another disturbance tracking by to our south will clip our area with a chance for rain showers Thursday and Friday. The greater rain chances for much of Thursday will be south. Temps will remain below average, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Looking Ahead… Saturday continues to look nice with partly cloudy skies and seasonably warm highs in the mid-upper 60s. Based on the latest forecast model data, I had to introduce a chance of showers and isolated thunder on Sunday for Mother’s Day… but it’s not looking like a washout. Expect highs in the mid-upper 60s. Breezy Sunday with a chance of scattered showers and thunder, with highs mainly in the 60s.
Much warmer heading into next week with highs in the 70s, in fact well into the 70s Monday and Tuesday. Some forecast models even hint at the chance of 80F for some on Tuesday. There will still be at least a slight chance for some scattered showers and t-storms Monday and Tuesday, then next Wednesday looks dry at this time.
Have a good Tuesday night! -Bill Graul
