Mountain bicyclist seriously injured in crash at Sidie Hollow

TOWN of JEFFERSON, Wis. — A 29-year-old Minneapolis man was rescued after being injured seriously when he lost control of his mountain bike and crashed on a steep, rocky grade at Sidie Hollow County Park.
Zach Zadow and his father were riding bicycle trails at the park when the crash occurred, ejecting Zadow and leaving him unable to walk.
Members of the Viroqua Fire Department, the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office and Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance hiked from the Sidie Hollow Dam and found the pair. Rescuers used an emergency transport basket to carry Zadow out of the woods.
Tri-State Ambulance took him to Vernon Memorial Hospital.
Both men were wearing helmets.
