National hunting show to be in Milwaukee in 2014

One of the largest events for upland hunters, sport dog owners and conservationists is being held in Milwaukee next year.

Organizers expect nearly 30,000 to attend National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic February 14 to Feb. 16 in downtown Milwaukee.

The event is a tradeshow that holds seminars on wildlife habitat conservation, pheasant hunting, shooting sports, wild game cooking and dog training. It also features tractors, shotguns and art.

It’s organized by St. Paul, Minn.-based Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, a nonprofit dedicated to upland habitat conservation. The event was last in Wisconsin in 2009, when it was held in Madison. Last year’s event was in Minneapolis, where it drew nearly 29,000 people.

Wisconsin has 33 Pheasants Forever chapters.
