LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – La Crosse area Health leaders are celebrating the impact of the city’s community COVID- 19 vaccination site.
Since opening in March, the site which closed Friday at the UW-La Crosse, provided nearly 18,300 vaccine doses.
It was one of six community sites in the state.
“When they started, the vaccine was a scarce resource and was difficult to manage. And here we are. So things are opening back up. It was very helpful,” said La Crosse County Health Department COVID-19 vaccine coordinator.
There are still 50 vaccine providers within 50 miles of downtown La Crosse.
