New detail in alleged theft case with Wisconsin coroner
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) — The human spine the Oneida County medical examiner is accused of stealing to train her dog is from Fond du lac County.
Oneida County District Attorney Michael Bloom has said that 44-year-old Traci England attended an autopsy last week and kept part of the dead person’s spine.
Bloom says England told police that she intended to use the part to train one of her dogs to search for human remains.
Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Lt. Cameron McGee said Friday they contract with Oneida County’s medical examiner for services. He says they are investigating the alleged theft aspect and Oneida County is investigating possible misconduct.
The Fond du Lac sheriff’s department will refer their findings to their county’s district attorney’s office.
