New La Crosse beer will support community sustainability efforts

A new beer, developed by Pearl Street Brewery (PSB) for an area nonprofit, will make it’s debut in La Crosse tonight.

PSB created Greenhorn Beer as a way for I.M. SustainaBull, an area nonprofit, to raise funds for their organization’s programs.

The beer will be available during a special event at The Brickhouse in La Crosse tonight from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

I.M. Sustainabull is a local 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the mission to educate and engage children and the community on the principles of living an economically sustainable lifestyle.

The organization hopes to inspire our youth to lead and implement sustainable living practices through projects within their schools, and community. The fund, managed by the La Crosse Community Foundation, will give grants to kids of all ages for projects dealing with sustainability whether they are for growing food for the Hunger Task Force, or building gardens with Hillview Urban Agricultural Center.

Kids will be able to write grant requests after the first of the year and work with existing non-profit organizations like WisCorps, Mississippi Valley Conservancy, Rotary, Grow La Crosse, and more.

Greenhorn beer will be offered at several local establishments including The Brickhouse, Del’s Bar, Who’s on Third, and Pearl Street Brewery with a portion of the sales going to I.M. SustainaBull.
