News 8 Now Highlight Zone: West Salem tops Aquinas on Homecoming

West Salem Football defeated previously unbeaten Aquinas 22-6 on Friday night for a Homecoming victory.

West Salem used an early first quarter safety to grab early momentum, and the team followed it up by scoring a Luke Noel rushing touchdown to go up 9-0.

The lone Aquinas touchdown came in the first quarter via a Jackson Flottmeyer touchdown pass to Aiden Lee.

Aquinas is now 3-1 while West Salem improves to 2-1.

In other WIAA action, Viroqua grabbed its first win of the season with a 25-8 victory at home over Altoona, and Westby was shut out at home 21-0 to Kettle Moraine Lutheran.
