News 8 receives ‘Community Partnership’ award from La Crosse School District

Station recognized for support of The Compassion Project

Every couple of months, the La Crosse School District recognizes organizations for their work in schools and our community.

Monday night, News 8 received the district’s “Community Partnership” award.

The station was recognized for its efforts in supporting the district’s Compassion Project.

The community wide art project gave students a chance to show  what compassion means to them using a 6 by 6 inch canvas.

Their art was then hung up in the Pump House for display.

News 8 was there from the beginning to help move the discussion about compassion in our community forward.

“It really has meant a lot, not just in terms of supporting the compassion project, but also in terms of really starting those discussions and continuing those discussions around our community about what compassion means to people and how it’s important for everyone,” said Superintendent Randy Nelson.

The Compassion Project will be on display at the Pump House through June 28th.
