No one injured in Holmen kitchen fire

HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — No one was injured Tuesday in a kitchen fire at 117 Queen Court, according to the Holmen Area Fire Department.

The department responded to a kitchen fire report at 12:12 p.m. and arrived three minutes later to find light smoke coming from the front door. Crews found moderate smoke with no heat or visible flames and ventilated the home.

Smoke and heat was found beneath the modular home using a thermal imaging camera. Electrical breakers had been tripped, indicating a possible electrical issue.

Several electrical wires were found to be burned and the wiring insulation melted along with some wood charring.

The fire was contained and the cause remains under investigation.
