Norskedalen Threshing Bee helps people relive past

It was a blast from the past at Norskedalen on Saturday.

The Nature and Heritage Center hosted it’s 27th annual Threshing Bee.

People enjoyed a wide variety of demonstrations of old-time farm and home skills in an authentic pioneer setting.

There was everything from horse drawn wagon rides to home-cooked food.

The day offered visitors a glimpse of what life was like for their ancestors.

“It’s a look back to our heritage. And because we don’t use these machines anymore, we don’t have a direct connection to the land and the harvest like we used to. It’s important for kids to learn what was before them and where their food comes from,” said Christine Hall, executive director Norskedalen.

At the end of the day, guests were treated a traditional threshing bee dinner.
