It’s a nice late September evening for the Oktoberfest Torchlight Parade in La Crosse. Expect temps to fall through the 50s during the parade, so dress accordingly.

Mostly clear and not as chilly overnight, with lows in the low 40s in the La Crosse area… but still expect mid 30s in traditional colder areas north and east. Winds will be from the SE around 5-10 mph.

Sunny to partly cloudy Friday with warmer/more seasonable highs in the 66-71F range. Average high this time of year is near 70F in La Crosse. Winds Friday will be from the S/SE around 5-15 mph.

A nice Oktoberfest weekend looks to be in store with highs in the low 70s, under partly cloudy skies. Temps will likely be in the mid-upper 50s for the start of the Torch Light Parade at 10 a.m. Saturday… rising into the mid-upper 60s by early afternoon. Expect overnight lows in the 40s for most, perhaps some upper 30s north/east.

Looking Ahead… Seasonable highs in the upper 60s to low 70s will persist through the middle of next week. Monday looks dry, with low end chances for showers and isolated thunder on Tuesday and Wednesday. Much cooler later next week, with highs in the 50s Thursday and Friday. Next chance of widespread frost and/or freezing temps could be next Thursday night… with perhaps patchy frost Wednesday night. Stay tuned!
