Not Quite As Cool Tonight -Bill Graul

Seasonably Warm Temps Return Wednesday, Chance of Storms Thursday

Tonight’s Forecast Low: 59F / Wednesday’s Forecast High: 85F…

After an unseasonably cool start… it was a pleasant Tuesday across the region with highs in the 70s. The high of 77F in La Crosse marked the 3rd day in a row with a below average high temperature.

It won’t be quite as cool tonight, with lows in the 50s for most… perhaps some upper 40s in traditional cooler spots north and east. Most areas will be dry tonight, except for a very small chance for a shower in far southern portions of the viewing area… as showers and storms track by well to our south.

Tuesday Night Forecast

Mix of clouds and sun for Wednesday and more seasonable. Expect highs in the low-mid 80s, which is about average for this time of year. Winds will turn to the south around 5-15 mph, perhaps some gusts around 20 mph in some areas.

More humid Thursday with a pretty good chance of scattered showers and t-storms. There could be some storms tracking southeast across the area in the morning… then a chance of more storms later in the day as a cool front moves in from the west. How strong and widespread the storms are later in the day will be highly dependent on how much cloud cover persists through the day… and how warm temps get. With that said, the SPC has our area in a Level 1 to Level 2 risk of severe weather, but again it’s a rather “conditional” threat at this time… meaning it’s not a for sure thing. Stay tuned for updates as we get closer to Thursday.

Looking Ahead… Chance of showers and t-storms on Friday as well, with the higher chances south. Just isolated t-showers possible Saturday, then a slight chance of showers and t-storms Sunday. Highs will be in the low-mid 80s Friday, then closer to 80F over the weekend.

8 Day Build 3

Next Monday through Wednesday is looking seasonably warm with just isolated t-showers possible each day. Don’t worry, there will be many more hours of dry time than hours with rain chances. Highs will mainly be in the low-mid 80s.

Have a good night! -Bill Graul
