Odell Beckham Jr. reportedly agrees to record deal

Odell Beckham Jr. has agreed to a five-year extension with the New York Giants that will make him the NFL’s highest-paid wide receiver, according to a report from ESPN.

Beckham will make a maximum of $95 million over the course of the deal with $65 million guaranteed, a source told ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

The extension beats out Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown’s $17 million per year average and the $55 million in total guarantees received by Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans in March.

Beckham, 25, had been seeking an extension for the past couple seasons and was due to make $8.5 million through the fifth-year option of his rookie deal.

He hasn’t seen the field since breaking his ankle in October and hasn’t played this preseason as he sought a new deal.

Before his injury last season, Beckham had totaled at least 90 catches, 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns in each of his first three seasons. He had 25 receptions for 307 yards and three touchdowns last year.

Over the course of his career, he has a total of 313 receptions for 4,424 yards and 38 touchdowns.
