On Friday the 13th, Flight 666 flies to HEL for last time

Today is the last Friday the 13th that Flight 666 will fly straight to HEL.

Helsinki, Finland, that is.

Finnair has been flying non-superstitious passengers via Flight 666 from Copenhagen, Denmark, to Helsinki on the so-called unluckiest day of the year since 2006, The Telegraph reported. In 11 years, it’s flown on that route 21 times.

The Nordic airline decided to retire the flight number after its trip cheduled to depart on the 13th hour of Oct. 13, 2017.

“Today will actually be the final time that our AY666 flight flies to HEL,” a spokesperson for the airline told The Telegraph. “As of Oct. 29, some of our flight numbers in our network will change and our AY666 flight from Copenhagen to Helsinki will change to AY954.”

Veteran pilot Juha-Pekka Keidasto told The Telegraph he’s not worried about flying on Friday the 13th.

“It has been quite a joke among the pilots,” he has said, The Telegraph reported. “I’m not a superstitious man. It’s only a coincidence for me. If there’s some passenger who is anxious about this 666, our cabin crew is always happy to help them.”
