Onalaska boys hockey beats Avalanche in first round of playoffs

Onalaska boys hockey advanced through the opening round of the Division 1 WIAA hockey playoffs by beating the Avalanche 7-2 at the Omni Center Tuesday night.

The Hilltoppers scored four goals in the first period and never looked back. Senior Tommy Duren and freshman Colin Comeau each scored two goals for Onalaska.

Onalaska next faces five-seeded Eau Claire Memorial Thursday night at home at 7:30 p.m.
