Onalaska firefighters ‘Fill the Boot’ with more than $10,000
ONALASKA, WI — Onalaska firefighters raised more than $10,000 during this year’s “Fill the Boot” campaign on August 30 and 31.
The money will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) to help children and adults.
“Muscular Dystrophy is a devastating disease,” Onalaska Fire Department Lt. Corey Yonkovick said in a statement. “The courage that you see from people living with this condition is inspirational. We’re proud to be able to come together with our community and contribute.”
Onalaska Fire Chief Don Dominick said raising that amount of money in two days is impressive “but knowing the generosity of the people of the Onalaska community, it’s hardly surprising. This is a community that I am proud to be a part of.”
