Onalaska parents host parade to celebrate 2020 grads

ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT)– Onalaska High School seniors didn’t let the pandemic rain on their parade! Parents put together Saturday’s parade to honor Onalaska’s graduating class of 2020.

Their original graduation date was May 25, but was pushed back and later canceled due to the pandemic. Graduates, their families, and the community are participating in a parade to celebrate all their accomplishments.

“I really think it’s important to celebrate our graduation because we’ve all gone through so much together and we’ve been with each other since that first day of Kindergarten. So to really just celebrate all the seniors and all of our accomplishments throughout high school, middle school and even elementary school. It’s amazing,” said Onalaska High School Senior Elizabeth Peterson.

Onalaska’s 2020 class had around 230 graduates. The high school also held a ceremony online for the graduates.
