Onalaska police looking for Santa’s List sponsors
Police seek help giving gifts, food to Onalaska children, families
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – The Onalaska Police Department needs your help for this holiday season.
The department is looking for sponsors for its Santa’s List program.
Every holiday season, the department takes donations to buy gifts for kids and food for their families.
Officers consider it a way to strengthen bonds in the community.
“This is one of those situations where it kinda brings out why we became police officers, so we can have that positive relationship and build those relationships with those families,” says Chief Charles Ashbeck.
Individual sponsorships start at $50.
The department’s goal is to reach $2,000.
That would allow them to help 40 students from the Onalaska School District.
Both individuals and businesses can sponsor a child.
