Onalaska students honor our veterans
4783370ONALASKA, Wis. — Northern Hills Elementary School in Onalaska is honoring our veterans. Third and fourth graders are performed a concert Thursday night titled “A Tribute to Our Veterans.” Kids sang songs, played instruments and some even rapped.
A newly constructed Wall of Remembrance was also be on display. The wall includes fabric bricks featuring service members who are family of students and teachers. It has photos and details about their family members service history.
The concert was about more than just honoring veterans. “It’s also a great way for kids to have a better understanding of their family history, knowing that grandmas and grandpas and the parents, what they have done and the places they’ve traveled serving our country,” says teacher Curt Rees.
