Onalaska, Tomah athletes win 18U national hockey tournament
Five local hockey athletes are taking home some national title hardware.
Onalaska’s Mason Manglitz, Hudson Weber and Jordan Degaetano plus Tomah’s Boone Mathison and Danny Amberg are all champions in the USA Hockey Youth Tier II 18U 3A National Championships, as part of the Janesville Jr. Jets showcase team.
Manglitz had a goal and assist while Degaetano scored the game-winning goal for the team in a 3-2 Jets victory Monday over the Green Bay Bobcats.
Mathison led all of 3A with nine goals during the tournament.
Green Bay hosted the tournament, which featured 16 teams from across the nation within the 3A division.
