Sparta man suffers non-life threatening injuries after tree fell on him
MONROE COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) — One Sparta man suffered non-life threatening injuries after a logging accident Saturday afternoon.
Twenty-Eight-year-old Henry Haas was cutting fire wood by himself in the Town of Sparta near 9703 Gavel Ave. when a tree fell on top of him.
Sparta Area Fire Department responded to the incident around 4:36 p.m. to cut Haas out from under the tree. Haas was able to use his cell phone to call for help. Responders used a UTV to transport Haas out of the woods and to an ambulance.
Haas was airlifted by Med Link Air to Gundersen Health System for non-life threatening injuries.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
