Operation River Watch gearing up for a busy summer
Group has made more than 700 stops this school year
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Volunteers with Operation River Watch in La Crosse are gearing up for a busy summer.
The group has been out patrolling the river in Riverside Park for years.
Their goal is to keep intoxicated people safe when leaving downtown.
So far this school year, the group has made more than 700 stops in the park.
That number has dropped a bit from last year. Volunteers credit that to the bitterly cold winter.
