Outdoor fitness equipment possibly coming to Onalaska parks
ONALASKA, WI — Onalaska parks may see some new equipment soon and not just for the kids.
City officials are considering a partnership with La Crosse Co. to add outdoor fitness equipment to their parks.
Together, they would apply for a grant to get the exercise equipment and install it.
The parks and rec director says you can’t skip opportunities like this. “Obesity is always an issue and trying to battle that, we’re also looking at putting it in a park where we do have a number of seniors that visit that park so that possibly it can help with their mobility so they can live a healthier life,” said Dan Wick.
21663500It’s the first time Onalaska has worked with the county for this type of grant.
