Pandemic prompts annual plant sale to go online

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — GROW La Crosse’s annual plant sale is shifting to online ordering to comply with social distancing regulations for the COVID-19 pandemic.
Patrons will obtain their plants through no-contact, drive-through free pick-up or drop-off delivery for $6.
GROW is a nonprofit organization that parents and other community members founded to connect children to healthy food and nature. It relies on relies on donations, grants and fundraisers such as the plant sale.
Customers can order plants, which come from the Deep Rooted certified organic farm near Westby, Wis., through Monday, May 4, on GROW’s website.
Orders can be picked up from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 7, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 8, at the Hoop House at Washburn Garden at 924 Division St. in La Crosse. Deliveries will take place May 7 and 8 in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines.
Delivery cost to La Crosse and La Crescent addresses is $6.
GROWing Generosity, which typically is GROW’s biggest fundraiser, now will be a virtual fundraiser on GROW’s Facebook page from 6 to 9 p.m. May 14.
