Parents of ill Wisconsin lawmaker attend session
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The parents of ill Democratic state Rep. Tamara Grigsby of Milwaukee attended the Assembly session Thursday to receive a resolution passed hoping she recovers quickly.
Her father Howard Grigsby says people’s expressions of concern and love have hastened her recovery. He says everyone’s concerns have also sustained the endurance of family memories during this difficult time.
Grigsby was released from the hospital last week after a monthlong stay that included two weeks in intensive care.
The 37-year-old Grigsby had been treated for cancer but it was not clear what was the cause of the ailment that put her into the hospital last month.
She was elected in 2004 and is a member of the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee.
