Past rivals form Bantam youth hockey co-op team, win state championship

For years, Sparta and Viroqua Bantam youth hockey have been rivals. But this past summer, both teams were short on players, so Sparta Youth Hockey President Brenden Kehren paired up with Viroqua’s president Kyle Buros to form a co-op.

Rivals became friends during practices, and this past weekend, the co-op’s season culminated in the best way possible: a WAHA state championship.

The team says they’ve made plenty of new friends and memories to last a long time.
