Paws Against Hunger gives back to area animals

Event raises money for Coulee Region Humane Society

Area businesses are giving back to some of our community’s furriest friends.

The “Paw Away Hunger” program at Festival Foods raises money for animals at the Coulee Region Humane Society by selling bags at three of their area locations. That money goes toward everything from kitty litter to dog chow and all the other supplies it takes to keep the organization going.

“One of our core values is we’re community involved, and this is a great organization,” said Mark Przywojski, director of Holmen’s Festival Foods location. “We love to partner with them, because it’s a great cause, and all of these animals need help.”

The “Paw Away Hunger” program in Holmen raises nearly $2,500 every month for the Humane Society.

If you want to get involved, you can head to Festival Foods in La Crosse, Onalaska or Holmen and buy a bag for $5 or $10.  Every penny raised by the bag sales goes back to the Humane Society.
