PD: Woman charged in 3-bank robbery spree

3-banks in a span of eight days last month

A Madison woman is accused of robbing three banks in the city in a span of eight days last month, police said.

Madison police said Thursday that 31-year-old Lisa M. Harding is accused of robbing the Associated Bank at 448 S. Gammon Road Dec. 5, Old National Bank at 5750 Raymond Road on Dec. 10 and the U.S Bank at 4602 East Towne Boulevard on Dec. 13.

Harding was tentatively charged with the U.S. Bank robbery the day the crime happened, police said. She’s accused of robbing the bank, then hopping in a cab to flee the scene. The cab was pulled over near East Washington Avenue and Schmedeman Avenue, and Harding was taken into custody.

On Thursday, police said detectives developed probable cause to tentatively charge her in the two other December robberies.
