‘Peace and Art’ event makes community heard
Community members organize event
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Our community is making their voices heard Friday.
Cameron Park was full of people drawing signs of peace, love and solidarity. The ‘Peace and Art in Cameron Park’ event was organized by community members on Facebook as a way for people to speak out against the recent shootings and attacks.
Event organizers say the art work is just a way for concerned members of the community to come together.
“It’s happening in Minnesota, it’s happening in our back yards, so we wanted to bring the community together for, like what you said, very therapeutic, to process these feelings that we were having,” said Peace and Art Event Co-Organizer Jacqueline Marcou.
The artwork included signs of peace and memorials for those lost in recent shootings and attacks.
