People in La Crosse react to Chauvin guilty verdict
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)- Many people watched the Derek Chauvin trial closely and are now sharing their opinions on the verdict.
“I think it’s a great step for racial justice in America and we’re happy to see it come through the way that we were hoping so we were relieved and hopeful for the future,” said Alex Kinsel.
Laken Noble said, “Thank Jesus, thank the lord.”
“I was actually astonished that he got charged on all 3 charges because I mean from what it sounded like, he was a good cop, it’s just sad to hear he’ll be spending the rest of his life in there, but at least there’s sympathy for the people who were related to George Floyd,” said Jill McIntosh.
“After reviewing what I saw, I agree with it. It is what it is and I kind of go ahead with what they resolve to: guilty,” said one man.
TJ Diciaula said, “I think it’s going to make a lot of people happy and I don’t stand for that type of thing at all, but it’s hard to know what’s real these days.”
