People’s Food Co-op of La Crosse says staff person is COVID-19 positive
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — People’s Food Co-op announced Monday that a staff member at its La Crosse store has tested positive for COVID-19.
” We want this person to get well soon and send our best to their family,” the store said in a statement.
The staff member last worked Oct. 15 and has been self-isolating due to a potential exposure to the virus outside of the Co-op.
“Following our Pandemic Action Plan, we are in the process of contacting the La Crosse County Health Department. Due to the timing of the symptoms and schedules, it is deemed that there was no medium or high-risk exposure to other staff,” said the store.
The store is rigorously disinfected throughout the day and the store will continue to follow public health recommendations. Those who show any signs of being ill are not working in the store. It offers emergency paid sick leave and paid time off.
For the protection of shoppers and staff, the store recommends physical distancing, washing hands and wearing face coverings. It also provides a curbside pick-up service four days a week.
