Pet-friendly hiking event coming to Myrick Park
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A pet friendly outdoor event is coming to La Crosse’s marsh trails.
The first ‘Tails for Trails’ event is being hosted by La Crosse Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department. The free hike is a part of this year’s ‘Bee Week’.
Although the event is open to the public, participants are encouraged to bring their furry family members along for a candlelit, nighttime hike through a 1.5 mile route through Myrick Park’s marsh trails.
The event will feature a cozy fire and refreshments, as well as a prize drawing at the end of the hiking event.
Any animals at the event must be on a leash that is no longer than 8 feet, and they also must have current rabies and registration tags displayed. Organizers encourage participants to wear proper footwear and recommend bringing a headlamp of flashlight for safety.
The hike is on Saturday, April 28th, 2018, from 7:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Participants meet at the Myrick Park Gun Club Shelter at 2000 La Crosse, St.
