Phasing out door-to-door mail delivery?

Door-to-door mail delivery could soon be a thing of the past.

A proposal in Congress would phase out door to door service and switch to curbside and neighborhood cluster boxes similar to what many apartment buildings currently use.

The proposals come as the U.S. Postal Service looks to recover from a $16 billion loss last year. It’s estimated to save the agency $4.5 billion a year.

Critics argue the changes would be disruptive for the elderly and disabled.
