Plans for new apartment building on La Crosse’s south side reviewed

Building slated for across Highway 35 from Southern Bluffs Elementary

LACROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A new apartment building on La Crosse’s south side is coming closer to reality.

A 32-unit building was reviewed by the commercial and multi-family design review committee Friday morning.

The building will be built across from Southern Bluffs Elementary on Highway 35.

The building sill be near an apartment building that was completed last year.

Since the building is set to be near the Mississippi River, developers are aware of the site’s specific needs.

“Every site is unique and so we go through the process with every site of figuring out what are the things that need to get done, how do we check all the boxes, do all the right things, be good stewards of the property, good stewards of the environment while we do what we do,” said Nick Roush of Roush Rentals.

Developers are hopeful to break ground on the new building in April.
