Plans for new Pettibone Boat Club revised
City hopes new club will boost tourism
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The city of La Crosse is extending its lease with Pettibone Boat Club while helping it move forward with building a new facility.
The boat club met with the city’s design committee Friday to make some revisions on its plan to build a new club. It’s something that has been in the works for about three years now.
With the boat club facility being more than 65 years old a new facility is a win for both the boat club and the city. The city hopes a new facility will attract more boaters while boosting tourism in the area.
“The new building will have a newer larger kitchen, the dinning area will be about the same, and we’ll have improved bathrooms including bathrooms and shower facilitates to be accessible from outside the building for visitors and people who spend the night in their boats,” said Pettibone Boat Club Treasurer Mark Hyde.
The boat club hopes the new facility will be open by April of next year.
