Police and Fire Commission to vote on new Fire Chief Wednesday
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The city of La Crosse is nearing the confirmation of its new fire chief.
According to the agenda released for Wednesday’s Police and Fire Commission meeting, the commission will vote on the appointment of Ken Gilliam to the position of fire chief.
Members of the commission confirmed to News 8 that the vote will be taking place.
Gilliam currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Training at the St. Paul Fire Department and will need to be approved by the commission before officially being announced as chief in La Crosse.
Current fire chief Gregg Cleveland announced his retirement earlier this year.
