Police ID woman in fatal fire in eastern Iowa

WALCOTT, Iowa (AP) — Police have released the name of an 87-year-old woman found dead in a burning home in Walcott in eastern Iowa.

The Quad-City Times in Davenport says Police Chief Jeff Blake says firefighters found Lois Moldenschardt after they entered the house to attack the flames on Sunday. Moldenschardt lived alone.

Officials think the fire started with a cigarette. Results of an autopsy are pending.
