Police: mom brought 3 kids to home burglary attempt
The kids ranged in age from 4 to 11
RACINE, Wis. (AP) — Racine police believe a woman brought her three children along when she allegedly tried to burglarize a home.
Thirty-five-year-old Tanya Fawcett faces 10 counts related to a Monday night burglary in Racine.
Officers said a homeowner called 911 when he returned to his home and found a woman and three children — ages 4, 7 and 11 — inside his house. According to the complaint, the man ordered Fawcett and her children to leave.
WISN-TV reports the family tried to escape down an embankment across the street, where Fawcett was arrested.
An officer said Fawcett appeared intoxicated, confused and had cuts on her arms and legs.
Fawcett was ordered held Tuesday on $1,000 bond. An after-hour phone message left for her attorney was not immediately returned Wednesday night.
