Police say footprints in Iowa snow led to suspect

NEWTON, Iowa (AP) — Police say footprints in the snow led officers to a burglary suspect in northwest Iowa.

Newton police say 24-year-old Derek Gladson was arrested last week and charged with burglary. Online court records say he’s due in court on Wednesday. The records don’t list the name of his attorney.

The Newton Daily News reports that Gladson is suspected of stealing merchandise from inMotion Center, a dancing, tumbling and cheerleading business.

Officers say they followed footprints in the snow to an area in northeast Newton, where they found and arrested Gladson.
